Do Sunday Exists In A Mom’s Life?

Do Sunday exist in a mother’s life? I haven’t seen yet in my married life.

Sunday is known as a holiday, a day off in a week, a break from mundane work, a rest day for students and office-goers.

So, basically everyone has a day to rest, to recharge oneself after a hectic week but why not for a mom?

In my entire life, I have hardly seen my mother, grandmother, aunts take rest or break from kitchen or other house chores.
Exception were days, they fall ill but, that break couldn’t be too long as, there was a whole family dependent on her for their meals, ironed neat clothes, clean organised house and many other small things.

So, what we mothers do in such situation?
We take medicines, that too without doctor’s prescription, no matter, how badly they affect our body!

Atleast, I have done it many times so, that my kids do not miss their school, my husband doesn’t miss his meals or doesn’t gets late for his office and my routine of house doesn’t get halted.

And I bet, my mother, mother-in-law and all the women’s have done this or still do this, even you!Isn’t it!

Let’s admit, we are taught to be in such a way. In fact, we are doing what we have seen our moms doing, right?Remember, as a kid, students or just teenagers what Sundays meant to us!

As the Monday commenced, we eagerly waited for the coming Sunday.

Sundays was reserved for sleeping till late hours, lying on the bed watching our favourite shows and for some it was outing with friends having lunch, shopping or watching new movie.

I agree that marriage changes the lives of a woman. We are in the responsibility of taking care of our family 24 hrs a day, but why are we not allowed to take care of ourselves also?

We are always happy to serve our family but when we will serve our own selves?

Seems selfish? Guilt engulfing your minds? It’s normal.

Now, this is how we are brought up with such mindsets.

Ok, not for the whole day but, at least mid afternoons.
Shouldn’t they be spared merely for us so atleast, we can take a nap, binge on Netflix, sip a cup of hot tea or coffee which we usually have to skip or sometimes have it only when it gets cold.

I know, not only me but, you all mothers out there, are longing for such Sundays, when a day before, we would be shouting – Wow! Tomorrow is Sunday, let’s plan something.
Or just atleast be excited of getting a chance to sleep uninterrupted.

So, how would you want your Sundays be like?

Will these desires ever turn in reality or we would be just saving them as drafts in our closed diaries?

I hope you could relate to my words and enjoyed reading.

How I started blogging and why I love it.

It’s been 11 years of my marriage and I am a mom to 2 kids who always keep me occupied the whole day.

My initial 5-6 years of marriage went like I was in a different world with my two kids. I was experiencing the best moments of motherhood.

Raising my kids, experiencing the monotonous job of being a mom and a wife, learning different life skills whilst upbringing two tiny human beings!

There were days when, fulfilling all the demands of my family just left me exhausted and sucked up all my energy. But overall, those were such moments which I embraced and cherished but, once they grew up enough not to be dependent on me for the basic needs and send to school I had some spare time for myself.I realised something was missing in my life.

Now as I loved to explore all around, I was in search of something which could benefit me in terms of my upgradation and learning.

A kind of Emptiness and curiosity to know more about the outside world made me stumble upon the internet and that was the turning point in my life after so many years of my marriage.

Only then, I got introduced to this amazing world of blogging through internet.

As a mother, I was bound to sit at home raising my kids and look after their every basic requirement in all these years. I felt like I had lost my confidence and I am worthless.

It’s not that as mom, I was not happy doing my motherly duties but, I was losing myself, my identity, my sanity.I wished to do something that I enjoyed and which made me feel good and content at the same time.

After I came across some parenting sites I too, started sharing my musings and I was getting good response. This motivated me to write more. Soon, I set up my wordpress blog and started writing and sharing to connect and engage with more and more bloggers and until now it’s been a wonderful journey.I have met so many lovely bloggers in form of friends who not only supported me but guided me as well in this new world.

Why I love blogging.

Now there are so many reasons that why I love blogging. It has actually opened so many unending opportunities for me to connect, engage and learn from other bloggers.

Some more reasons are:

Blogging has given me a platform to showcase my skills, interests, thoughts, learning experiences, wisdom and perspective towards life with people from all over the world.I have been connected with so many lovely bloggers from different countries.

It has given me the sense of sustainability, confidence and satisfaction.

Through blogging, I have learnt a lot about different languages, cultures, traditions and skills and still learning. This has increased my knowledge and updated my skills too.

Blogging is something I never planned. It just came natural.
It helped me to connect with my own self, figure out my own perspectives about life and world.

Blogging also means spending my ‘Me Time’. Being disconnected with world for a while and enjoying things which I love to do gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction.

Blogging helps me fulfill my aspirations and dreams from the comfort of my home and in my suitable time hence, I can easily manage my home, my kids and my work.

Blogging also helped me be more disciplined and productive. Earlier, I was always messed up with my households, kids and other things. Now, I have started preparing my to- do list and schedule my task. In this way I can be more efficient, regular and disciplined.

However, this is something I have to practice more.

So, this is how I started blogging and Why I love it.
